Armed with a slate of new original programming, newly acquired Classic TV and movies, multiplatform content and Cause Change, a new pro-social initiative, the network is uniquely positioned to cater to America’s 78 million Baby Boomers, the first generation of Americans who grew up watching television. Maniaci has been instrumental in launching the originals agenda on the network and TV Land has substantially increased original content since Maniaci joined the networks three years ago.
Maniaci is responsible for such critically-acclaimed and highly-rated programs as the annual TV Land Awards, the Emmy-nominated The Dick Van Dyke Show, Revisited, the network’s first original special for broadcast, which premiered on CBS in May 2004 and the Emmy-nominated Still Brady…After All These Years reunion special in September 2004. 2005 brought critical and ratings success as the network premiered a variety of original series and specials including Chasing Farrah, the original reality series that followed iconic Hollywood actress and sex symbol Farrah Fawcett as well as TV Guide and TV Land Present: The 100 Most Unexpected TV Moments, Living in TV Land, TV Land Confidential, Inside TV Land: Tickled Pink and TV Land’s Top Ten. In 2006, TV Land premiered several original productions including Sit Down Comedy with David Steinberg, That’s What I’m Talkin’ About, My First Time, Generation Boom and I Pity The Fool starring the one and only Mr. T and 100 Greatest TV Quotes and Catchphrases. TV Land will premiere the upcoming original series, High School Reunion, in January 2008. In this new reality series, TV Land reunites a dozen alumni from a 1987 high school class in Texas. Whether opening some painful wounds inflicted by the resident bully or rekindling old romances, High School Reunion gives viewers a front row seat to this emotional and compelling rollercoaster ride.
Maniaci also worked at Nick at Nite, where he developed the hit hidden camera series Hi-Jinks, which averages an audience of over two million viewers per week; Nick at Nite’s Search for the Funniest Mom in America – a national contest in search of the next Roseanne – and Fatherhood, a show based on Bill Cosby’s best-selling book of the same name.
